A Note on Higher Order and Variable Order Logic over Finite Models

چکیده
We show that descriptive complexity’s result extends in High Order Logic to capture the expressivity of Turing Machine which have a finite number of alternation and whose time or space is bounded by a finite tower of exponential. Hence we have a logical characterisation of ELEMENTARY. We also consider the expressivity of some fixed point operators and of monadic high order logic. Finally, we show that Variable Order logic over finite structures, a notion introduced by [8] contain the Analytical Hierarchy.

Numerical Simulation of the Incompressible Laminar Flow Over a Square Cylinder
Simulation of fluid flow over a square cylinder can be performed in order to understand the physics of the flow over bluff bodies. In the current study, incompressible laminar flow over a confined square cylinder, with variable blockage factor has been simulated numerically, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The focus has been on vortex-induced vibration (VIV) of the cylinder. Vorticity...
متن کاملA Short Note on Two-Variable Logic with a Linear Order Successor and a Preorder Successor
The finite satisfiability problem of two-variable logic extended by a linear order successor and a preorder successor is shown to be undecidable. The decidability of the finite satisfiability problem of two-variable logic extended by orders and preorders as well as their corresponding successor relations has been currently investigated by several papers [2, 5, 3]. This short note extends [3] wh...
متن کاملThe new implicit finite difference scheme for two-sided space-time fractional partial differential equation
Fractional order partial differential equations are generalizations of classical partial differential equations. Increasingly, these models are used in applications such as fluid flow, finance and others. In this paper we examine some practical numerical methods to solve a class of initial- boundary value fractional partial differential equations with variable coefficients on a finite domain. S...

Modal Logic is traditionally concerned with the intensional operators “possibly” and “necessary”, whose intuitive correspondence with the standard quantifiers “there exists” and “for all” comes out clearly in the usual Kripke semantics. This observation underlies the well-known translation from propositional modal logic with operators ♦ and , possibly indexed, into the first-order language over...
متن کاملBeyond first order logic: From number of structures to structure of numbers: Part II
We study the history and recent developments in nonelementarymodel theory focusing on the framework of abstractelementary classes. We discuss the role of syntax and semanticsand the motivation to generalize first order model theory to nonelementaryframeworks and illuminate the study with concrete examplesof classes of models. This second part continues to study the question of catecoricitytrans...
